About the Role

JMS Energy is seeking experienced Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate a variety of construction equipment while closely adhering to JMS safety policies and industry standards. The role includes performing construction tasks such as material handling, matting, land clearing, excavation, rough grading, roadway and site preparation, and underground utility work. 

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • 2 - 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to fall protection and safety protocols
  • Knowledge of basic construction principles
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, site maps and safety guidelines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Promote and follow JMS safety standards on-site, prioritizing and demonstrating safe behavior
  • Responsible for the safe and precise movement of materials, earth and construction components during all stages of construction
  • Operates various construction equipment to clear and level land, build access roads and lay down crane pads
  • Assist with staging and positioning turbine parts (tower sections, nacelles and blades)
  • Complete foundation preparation work including digging and preparing foundation pits and concrete placement activities
  • Use proper signaling and communication to coordinate with other crew members to move loads safely
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in safe working order, performing and documenting daily maintenance duties
  • May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

  • This is a site-based role and includes work performed in all weather conditions and may include exposure to dust, fumes, and loud noises.
  • On-site work requires adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing or walking 8–10 hours per day.
  • Travel to various JMS job site locations may be required with limited notice.
